Still Sick......

Day 9...still under the weather. She hasn't been back to school since Christmas.
"I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you'll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you'll make something that didn't exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind." Neil Gaiman
I read this quote today and I think it will inspire me through the year- I hope it will inspire you too!

Gone Again!

Off she goes again...back to Wolfvegas once more, back to chemistry and calcumulus (haha!). Gee, the Christmas break went fast. Ainslie and Marron are back to school tomorrow too. I guess that means I need to be productive too- time to get caught up on a ton of work that has accumulated recently.
Guess she will be back during Spring Break...enjoy the Tassimo!
Peacing to Acadia in Cecil.
Much Love.
On an entirely different note, I am trying to talk my better half into going skiing with me. It has only been 23 years since I skied, this would be a first for him, but I think it would be a ton of fun. Marron is totally amped; Ainslie, well, he'd rather stay at home and go to the woods. I will keep working on it........

We had a very nice family dinner at Ken and Eva's house on Boxing Day. Dad was feeling under the weather, so he and Mum stayed put at their place. It was nice to be with the family again!

Kayleigh's birthday is on Boxing Day, so we celebrated that too, with the usual frozen cheesecake. Ainslie got her nose with whipped cream. Hard to believe she is 20! Happy Birthday, Sweetie!

Whale Watching-August 2008

Our last trip for the summer took us to Brier Island for a day of whale watching. It was amazing to be so close to these gentle humpbacks. We managed to see nine different whales, including two cow/calf pairs, many gannets and porposises. I highly recommend this tour in the Bay of Fundy. The tour operators were terrific - we used Brier Island Whale and Seabird Tours (brierislandwhales.blogspot.com) and we were not disappointed. Shelly was a wonderful guide who provided lots of information about the whales who frequent the Bay- Luna, Sickle, Sockeye, to name a few.

Breaching for us!

It was a great way to cap off the summer!

PEI Vacation 2007

We took off Saturday for what was meant to be a well deserved break. Of course, travelling with three kids (two of whom are big enough to have stayed home, but wouldn't want to miss a thing!) is always tons of fun. We decided to rent a van to make life easier for all of us. I guess Ainslie will soon have to learn to drive himself, because he still complained about not having enough leg room. Whadda ya do? Kayleigh amused herself for the drive with her iPod and a new Cosmo. Really roughing it, eh? Kirby couldn't keep his eyes open, so guess who had to do all of the driving??? Yep- me. really relaxing. Guess it is better than watching the ditch hurtling at you at 110 km/ph.
We got there in jig time without any problems. The cottage was really nice, we got one with a king for us (just like home), a queen and two twin beds. Boy, you pay for that luxury! But, it was really strange though- king size bed but no salt and pepper, forks that don't bend or the little bottles of shampoo. There wasn't even a phone in the cottage. Wierd is all I can say. We just hung out , everybody was pretty tired.

Time is Flying By!

Things have been really busy lately- wow. Last night was Kayleigh's last band concert- maybe forever (I hope not)! Her friends did a little send-off for the graduating members: her's was really cute- they said some nice things about her ("Sax and the City"= Kayleigh's next sax combo) :)

New Blog

What a beautiful day in the valley! The sun is shining and the doves have started cooing. Perfect. Had a busy day at work...even more to do at home. Soon have to start thinking about tax returns. ugggg.! I thought this picture of Marron with Otis was pretty cute. I did one page of the calves and I am pretty happy with it. I have to get busy and do some of Kay's trip to Costa Rica. Maybe I should finish Europe first :) Too many ideas- not enough time!
